The Soho Series - Bar Salsa Review

1391771_633819460003019_2136488132_n

The Salsa experience is about enlightening the senses to the delights of our creativity and mouth watering flavours. Our menu is an adventure. Join us; we promise you'll discover new tastes, fall in love with new flavours but, most of all, enjoy the flair and passion of Latin hospitality. ¡SALUD!

I’m doing this a little backward because it isn’t the first post I’ve written in The Soho Series, it’s actually number four or five, but this is what I wanted to kick start with because it was my absolute favourite out of all of the places I’ve visited in Soho over the last month or so.

Now, admittedly, I’m not much of a party animal or an outgoing person but I’m trying really hard to get involved and do things I’ve never done before. Hence, salsa dancing!! Continue reading

IngredientsUntitledThis is the first in my new ’15 minute meals’ series. Very Jamie Oliver huh? They’re all my own ideas and creations, with simple food that I enjoy. I won’t be including measurements unless it’s something very technical. I usually cook by eye.

The first three recipes are all made with spinach and Scottish salmon as the main ingredients. These are ingredients that I love, you can substitute tuna or any other fish or meat and completely skip the spinach if you want to.

recipes are only guidelines Continue reading

MUA LUXE Lip Lacquer review w/ swatches

muavelvetliplacquerthumbkookyreckless.jpg
These are definitely not Valentines lip products. In fact, these are probably something you’d only wear if you wanted to bag yourself a Valentine for next year! But I just had to share the MUA Luxe Lip Lacquers with you and seen as I’m at the computer today, there’s no time like the present for a review.

Now, I snagged these from here there and everywhere because some were out of stock so I had to go to a Superdrug to get another. And for £3…. It really was a done deal. The frosted packaging is a really big plus too. You can clearly see the colours and it feels very luxurious to the touch. ….hat was about three months ago so I’ve had a good while to test them out since then. Continue reading

This is the Bare All Tag that I originally saw posted by GirlInTheGlasses and decided it’d be a fun blog post to do.

A little bit about my nails – I’m really touchy about my nails because I have a calcium deficiency that stops my nails growing sometimes. When one breaks, I admit, I do shed a tear!! Sad, I know. I tend to paint my nails in ridiculously bright colours because I feel like they make my hands look slimmer (that sounds stupid). I’ve only ever had acrylic nails put on in a salon once and I never want to have them done again. My nails were so paper thin after taking them off. It took them months to grow back. But anyway, my natural nails…….

Here they are. In all of their unpolished, dull glory…. Continue reading

For April I’ve decided to team up with a number of different bloggers on a number of different platforms and stay committed to writing one post every day throughout April. Call me crazy but it sounded fun to me! Each post will be based on a letter of the alphabet. I’m sure you get the point. Each post can have its own theme or the month of April can have a theme. For example, For ‘A’ I could write a post on air brushing and for ‘B’, a post on Blogging. The two aren’t linked by a theme. However, April could have a Beauty theme and then ‘A’ could be for Acne and ‘B’ for Bobbi Brown. I’m undecided which route I’ll take but am already planning a few blog posts two months early! (I have exams during that period but still wish to take part). Continue reading

Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item?

Not including electrical items? Probably my MAC Matchmaster Foundation. – You have to have a good base to work with though so I’m not crying about the £25 label. – Much. *Looks at bank statement* Continue reading

Book Review - The Crimson Petal and the White - Michel Faber

IMG_20140208_191314

(Please excuse my empty wine glass, I wasn’t feeling like wine red when I took the photo and that’s all I had in. There’s no point wasting it now is there?)

“So begins this irresistible voyage into the dark side of Victorian London. Amongst an unforgettable cast of low-lifes, physicians, businessmen and prostitutes, meet our heroine, Sugar, a young woman trying to drag herself up from the gutter any way she can. Be prepared for a mesmerising tale of passion, intrigue, ambition and revenge.” Continue reading
