Top Five Red Carpet Looks | The Brit Awards 2015

Last night at the Brits saw Kim K take selfies on stage while she was introducing Kanye, Take That make fools of themselves and Madonna take flight in spectacular fashion as she was dragged down a flight of stairs by her dancers during her ‘big return’ to the biggest music awards ceremony in the UK. The red carpet however was far more subdued than all of that. There really wasn’t much glitz and glam at the Brit awards so there wasn’t very much to choose from in terms of favourite fashions. There was no Margo Robbie, JLo or Zendaya but there were these guys. Let’s take a look at my personal top five.

1 | Paloma Faith

The most put together and polished look on the red carpet came from Paloma Faith. The combination of red hair, red lips, red nails and red dress worked so well together and you have to admire the winged liner and bold brows. Paloma looked absolutely glorious in Armani.  Continue reading

YouTube Made Me Do It | Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil Review

Another cult product that took over the internet back around 2013/2014 was the Urban Decay Glide on Waterproof Eye Pencil. While there are a good 40 or so pencils to choose from, the one that was raved about was Perversion, the blackest black kohl of life. I didn’t immediately run out and buy this pencil but I did buy it on a whim one afternoon when the Youtube-ness took over.

Perversion also comes in a mascara, liquid liner, gel and even an angled brush.

First off, this pencil is not cheap by any means, it’s £15.50 for 1.2g of product. I got mine from House of Fraser but you can get UD in the UK from Debenhams, UD online and Feel Unique. Continue reading

50 Shades of Grey Inspired Valentines Eye Makeup ft. Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2

thumbNow I am a big, big fan of the 50 Shades trilogy. Like, I read the books at least three times a year, level 35 on QuizUp, know everything there is to know about Christian…. It’s real. It could be my specialist subject on mastermind.

When the Iconic Pro 2 palette plopped onto my doorstep yesterday I just knew I needed to do a quick look with the palette and with the launch of the film on Valentines day this Saturday it had to happen soonish.

I’m not a make-up artist, nor am I photographer so I don’t really know how to photograph eye make up step-by-step. To make it simple I’ll just be breaking it down into a few easy steps with a completed look photograph at the end. I hope that’s easier for you guys to follow than for me to make of myself attempting to have an Anastasia Beverly Hills Instagram photo attached at every step of application ha ha ha ha! Instagram Wishlist

Just a run down of five things that have popped up in my Instagram (@LaurenLondon94) feed over the last few weeks that have been flagged in my head as future purchases. The majority are skin care related as I’m trying my best to get my skin healthy again.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s new fragrance for M&S. I have a serious RHW girl crush and do tend to just buy any magazine she’s on the cover of or has an article in so why would her fragrance be any different? I don’t need any new fragrances but… it’s Rosie, so….. – 75ml is £28! What a steal. There’s also an oil diffuser and a a candle.

I’ve been a lover of the Body Shop Vitamin E Range since I tried the cleansing soap and the Aqua Boost Sorbet. Despite switching to predominantly cream makeup for he winter, my skin still looks a bit dry. I kinda want this as a ‘makeup sandwich’ to spray the face during moisturisation and then again on top of all of my makeup for a refreshing burst.

Again with the dry skin theme…. I saw this Hydro Boost Gel Cream and just thought ‘hallelujah’! I’m not sure if you can get it in the UK though. So far it looks like Amazon is the only UK stockist and it costs just under £30. I may have to find a UK alternative.

I’m not the only one that’s been seeing ‘B’ Beauty at Superdrug for around a year and a half and haven’t really looked twice. So when I saw the new B. Treated Blemish Gel which claims to dry out spots, I thought I’d better try it. I think I’m going to pop down to Superdrug Marble Arch to get some B. Beauty skin care products as it appears that everything is better than half price !

Last but not least, the new seductive Smoky Poppy Collection (Limited edition). The range consists of of course, the body butter, body scrub, shower gel, body lotion, massage oil, eua de toilette, and some bath bombs. I want to take a look at the body scrub soon as it looks like more of a cream as opposed to some of the gels that I already have. Of course I’ll either be using my 02 priority moments 50% off perk or some other kind of discount code.

Are there any things that you guys have seen on Instagram recently but you just need to try? Instagram is turning into one large shopping list for me. I'm still not sure if this isn't good or bad thing. Ha ha! Let me know in the comments.

Makeup Spending Ban Update - January

So you may have seen in a previous post I started a four month spending ban. For the first month (January), the task was not to buy any make up whatsoever. I managed this so much more easily than I first thought I would. I realised quite quickly that I had already purchased an unnatural amount of make up and therefore I really, really needed to work with what I already had. So, I try not to go into Boots or Superdrug and if I do its only for essentials and/or a bottle of water. I don’t even go to the make up aisle any more and trying to avoid promotions as well. I’ve walked past Kiko and Selfridge’s on Oxford Street so many times and have not even stepped in. To be honest, I’m pretty proud of myself! Continue reading
