50 Shades of Grey Inspired Valentines Eye Makeup ft. Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2
Now I am a big, big fan of the 50 Shades trilogy. Like, I read the books at least three times a year, level 35 on QuizUp, know everything there is to know about Christian…. It’s real. It could be my specialist subject on mastermind.
When the Iconic Pro 2 palette plopped onto my doorstep yesterday I just knew I needed to do a quick look with the palette and with the launch of the film on Valentines day this Saturday it had to happen soonish.
I’m not a make-up artist, nor am I photographer so I don’t really know how to photograph eye make up step-by-step. To make it simple I’ll just be breaking it down into a few easy steps with a completed look photograph at the end. I hope that’s easier for you guys to follow than for me to make of myself attempting to have an Anastasia Beverly Hills Instagram photo attached at every step of application ha ha ha ha!
The shades used: Paper | New-Tral | One Way | Grey Day | Steal-Er
I didn’t prime my lids for this seen as I was testing out the palettes longevity but ordinarily I would have used one of the Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencils (white or cream) and blended that across the lid as a base.
1| Apply Grey Day to the outer two thirds of the mobile lid using a flat shader brush. – OMG, the one in the palette is awesome for packing on colour without any fallout. I haven’t enjoyed a brush that came with a palette this much since I got my Urban Decay Naked 3.
2| Apply Steal-Er to the remaining inner third using the other side of your shader brush and lightly blend the line between the two colours.
3 | Using a mixture of One Way and New-Tral, blend this in the crease, fairly high up to diffuse the edges of the two grey colours and add warmth to an otherwise very cool toned look.
4 | Using a mixture of Paper and New-tral, using your finger, pat lightly under the brow and onto the brow bone as a highlight.
Final touches for the eyes
– Winged liner using Makeup Revolution Double Flick liquid
– Inner rim highlight using Makeup Revolution Inner Eye Brightener
– Three coats of No.7 Lash Impact mascara
– Inner corner highlight using Makeup Revolution Radiant Light in Breathe
Final touches for the face
– Foundation Esteé Lauder Double Wear
– La Girl Pro conceal in Fawn to highlight the entire face
– Mac Ambering Rose Blush
– Makeup Revolution single shadow in Mmmm for contour
– Sleek Face Form in medium – bronzer
– Cheekbone highlight again using Breathe ^^
Final Touches for Lips
– Kiko Precision Lip Liner in Natural Pink
– Makeup Revolution WOW Gloss ‘I Woke Up Like This’ in the centre of the lips
I really love the way this turned out purely because the eyeshadows are so ridiculously pigmented that everything just pops in and of itself. If I hadn’t been wearing this to university I’d have popped on some whispy lashes too!
You can get your hands on this palette now for £6.99 from Makeup Revolution Store.
