Makeup Revolution Monday – Iconic Dreams Review w/Swatches |
We have been dreaming of our most stunning palette yet! Complete your dreams and your collection, and experiment more with the simply stunning Iconic Dreams. Beautiful bare looks now get more extravagant with greens, bronze and golden shades. Our now iconic Redemption palettes deliver the most amazing performance eyeshadows at the most affordable price.
Roll up guys and dolls, this week’s palette is a beaute! Twelve absolutely gorgeous shades in brown, green and gold that would make Emily Noel jump for joy! (YouTube her, she loves these kinds of shades). Makeup Revolution added this gem of a palette to the Redemption/Iconic line some time ago but the difference in the quality of shades to this and one or two of the earlier offerings is astounding.
Now of course the packaging is the standard sturdy black with clear panel lid. It’s not fancy but it certainly is practical when you collect these palettes and need to know which is which. You also get a double ended applicator which I only ever use for swatching and is what I used in the swatches below.
These kinds of colours are always going to suit brown skin, they’re so flattering and sophisticated. You cannot go wrong with this kind of shimmer shade. The colours are definitely neutral but not the kinds of neutrals you see repeated in every single palette which is a bonus. This is such a good palette I’d even be confident enough to give it as a gift and know that they’d love it.
All of the matte formulas are similar to those in the Iconic Pro palettes and if you’ll remember, that’s when MUR’s matte shadow game went all the way offffffff! They’re so smooth and high impact. The shimmers are buttery and only the darkest green is prone to fall out. The rest apply with absolutely no problems.
In this palette especially the quality of the mattes is superb but the shimmers outshine them! Just look at that sheen! I am absolutely obsessed with olive greens and gold shadows so when this launched I was so glad to be sent one. (I know, I know, that was a long time ago). I just think the collection of colours here are stellar. I don’t think I’d change any one shade in favour of something else. They all fit so well together and look fab.
I’m not best pleased with the image quality but here’s a pinky look I did using shades 3, 10, 11 and 12:
