MAKEUP REVOLUTION TAM BEAUTY BIRTHDAY 2016 THUMB

If you follow Makeup Revolution on social media or are a connected blogger then you’ll know that on Thursday it was Makeup Revolution’s second birthday party!  I know right! Two years! Two years since Iconic 1, 2 and 3. Two years since Salvation lip lacquers and metallic eye foils! Who knew the time would go so fast? To celebrate, Makeup Revolution and TAM Beauty hosted a fun filled night at Cafe de Paris in London, an old haunt from my uni days.

New Launches

Between 4pm-6pm there was a drop in session to check out bestsellers from Makeup Revolution, Freedom, B Beauty and other Superdrug brands. There were also all of the new launches that are coming up next week like the British Beauty Blogger collab palette Fortune Favours the Brave which comes in a gold metal case and has a whole host of neutral and marbled shadows (£10.00).

“What you’ll find in Fortune Favours The Brave is light sheens and mattes, metallic bursts of colour heading through to the darkest shades of black, plum and navy. It’s the kind of palette that you really feel you can sit down and experiment with and identify what shades really bring out your eye colour and compliment your tone.”

bloglineI’m excited for that one. There’s also a new Chocolate Bar Palette, Chocolate Vice, to go with the Naked Chocolate, Salted Caramel, I ♥ Chocolate, Pink Fizz and Death by Chocolate. The new palette (see it here) if full of golds and browns and peachy shades; it looks really pretty.

Announcements

After a bit of mingling with other bloggers there was a lovely speech from Adam where he took us on a journey through the life of Makeup Revolution, unveiled Daisie Smith as the new hostess of all TAM Beauty events and thanked everyone who helped make Makeup Revolution what it is.

I guess one of the most exciting things to take from the night was that there’s a TAM Beauty competition about to kick off. Think Nyx Face Awards but for regular people. You can find details at www.iamfreedomawards.com when the #IAMFREEDOM competition launches but the long and short is that the competition will be to film looks and upload them to YouTube. There’ll be thirty entrants competing in challenges until five finalists remain. Four runners up will receive a £1,000 prize and the winner gets a whopping £10,00 and a years supply of freedom products plus a one year partnership with the brand.

Well, I’m lying. On the night a spokesman from Superdrug jumped up on stage and basically said “lol, syke, I’m gonna double it, it’s no biggie, twenty grand anyone?”. So now the runners up will get £2,000 and the winner will get £20,000.

SCOTT MILLS DJ BBC RADIO 1.jpg

After all of that, Scott Mills arrived and kicked off the music. He had us all up dancing with old school Beyoncè, Destiny’s Child and Usher. My feet and my thighs were burning from all of the dancing and getting low! It was such a giggle seeing Fofo, Dorota and Michelle bust a move! it was a bit bizarre to feel as though you;d danced all night only to leave the club and have people only just going out but still, it was a fab night.

We also got a goodie bag full of stuff which I’ll show you all in a future post, so look out for that!

As well as saying thank you to Adam Minto (owner), Jackie Davies (general beauty wizard) and Makeup Revolution for fab roducts and fab events, I also have to say a huge thanks to all of the beautiful people I met. If you have chance, check out IDorottka, BoxBraidsAndBeauty, Lovingmyls, SparkleStarCupcake and BeautyBoxObsessed to name but a few.

IMG_3904.jpgApart from one minor technical glitch with a video showing YouTubers from around the globe loving MUR products, the night went so smoothly. Everyone came and just had a fantastic time talking about makeup, making friends and drinking fab (free!) cocktails. There were canapés doing the rounds, cake pops, free wine, beer and cocktails and the venue was super glam. If only all blog events were this fun and interactive! There’s no other brand that would host such a big event purely for bloggers and people who support the brand. So thank you, thank you, thank you for showing as much love to us as we show to you!
