For the first time, the L’Oréal Paris laboratories have selected three pure clays and combined them with red algae extract, known for its brightening properties. The beaded, creamy texture illuminates tone by exfoliating the skin’s surface without drying it out.
A powerful blend of 3 pure clays
Koalin A highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum.
Montmorillonite Rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections.
Ghassoul A pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complexion. Instant and lasting, visible results.

loreal pure clay glow mask review2.jpg

I first saw this mask like everyone else in Boots on a new promotional offer at £5.00 about a month ago. There are three masks in the range to choose from but the Pure Glow spoke to me most because I love to exfoliate and my skin always looks dull from lack of time in daylight.

The mask is bright red (and does leave my skin looking very red as opposed to its usual yellow). Continue reading

March 2016 Favourite Products

bloglineMARCH FAVOURITES THUMB.jpg

This month has been pretty chill and low maintenance for me. I always use the easter break as a chance to recharge everything. Hair, skin, nails, blog and that meant less makeup and more concentrating on me. The first two weeks of March I still had uni so I got some good use out of some products but other than that beauty has been a one, two skip a few type thing for me.

I have a nice selection of favourites this month but I don’t have an eyeshadow palette because I’ve been hermitting in my room doing uni work for deadlines before exams so eyeshadow hasn’t really been on my priority list. If I’ve gone out, aside from my Full Face of Freedom, it’s been more foundation and mascara than anything bright and artsy. Although trust me, it’s Spring, bright and artsy is definitely coming!

But anyway, here are my favourites! ↓↓

Mini Superdrug Haul – February 2016

superdrughaul2016thumb.jpg

So I started taking the bus from uni instead of standing in the freezing cold waiting for a tram to the station and realised that the Superdrug that stocks Freedom was now on my bus route. I went in specifically to buy the Brow Pomade and ended up getting a few bits to make myself feel better about uni fees. I know, I know, logic. Spending money because you’re upset you have no money. I’ll be poor but I’ll have nice eyebrows. They might get me a job 😂 Haha.

Of course I went straight to Freedom’s display and was happy to see that my favourite Glycolic Glow Tonic was stocked there. I didn’t buy any but it was just good to know I could find it physically in a shop now when I run out. I was a bit bummed to see that the Lengthening Mascara wasn’t there. In fact, no mascaras were. There wasn’t even a space for them. I’ll just have to order that when I next go online.

YouTube Made Me Do It – Nivea For Men Sensitive Post-Shave Balm Review | £5.29

POSTSHAVEBALMPRIMERTHUMB.jpg

Formulated with Chamomile and Vitamin E the gentle Post Shave Balm:
Helps calm & soothe the skin, helps to prevent irritation and alleviates
skin dryness after shaving.

I really do dislike a bandwagon but I may have to bite my tongue here, and take back everything I’ve said in the past about this specific new trend being a fad that people only go along with because Nikkie said so…

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the Nivea Men Sensitive post Shave Balm as a primer. Nikkie Tutorials discussed how she had been in need of moisturiser, grabbed the nearest thing, her boyfriend’s shave balm and just gone with it. She saw some fab results because the main ingredient is glycerin which creates a tacky base! Most makeup primers or sprays such as Fix+ contain glycerin for this reason. Since then everyone has been using it and I just wrote it off as another one of those things that YouTubers say they love just to get more views. You know? So I’m at the train station and as usual when waiting for a train I nip into Superdrug. I see nothing I really want so I just grab a Lilt and head to pay. Out of the corner of my eye I notice the shave balm and it’s reduced. Down £2.00 to £3.52. I don’t know how, I just ended up buying it….. And off it came with me to BlogHQ where I’ve been putting it to the test. Continue reading

Freedom Skincare Pro Studio Collection Reviewblogline

thumb.jpg

I’ve been testing out Freedom’s new skincare products and have a little run down here for you.

The one thing I’ll say first off is that I’m a big fan of the packaging of all Freedom Skincare (Prime, Fix, Cleanse) products. They’re not quite luxe, but they are sleek and stylish. The reflective silver is really nice on the bathroom shelf and looks super modern.

Freedom Pro Studio Glow Tonic is a professional exfoliating Toner that evens out skin tone for a clearer, brighter more glowing complexion. Using a professional formula, enriched with Glycolic Acid, Ginseng and Aloe Vera, this gentle Tonic helps remove dead skin cells, revealing smoother, softer more radiant skin.

New In – Freedom Makeup London 2015

blogline

thumb

Freedom Makeup just added over 50 new lines to their site and I am unbelievably excited. Sure, people go wild for Dipbrow and the go wild for primer water but at department store prices or with the added annoyance of overseas shipping fees, it puts a real downer on cult products. Now we don’t have to worry about any of that because Freedom is bridging the gap perfectly!

New products include ten new duo brow powders in both compacts and in professional palettes, brow pomades, strobing/contour kits, primer water, creme highlighter palettes, powder highlighter, strobing cream, pro artist shadow palette’s and so much more! Continue reading

Kiko Cleansing Face Brush Review

bloglineTHUMB

“Soft face brush specifically designed to be used with foaming cleaners. It removes impurities from the skin thanks to perfectly sized bristles and massages it stimulating renewal. The face appears thoroughly cleansed, smoothed and fresh”.

I just placed an order on Boots for the No.7 Cleansing Face Brush and thought it was about time I reviewed the manual Kiko face brush before I retire it.

This brush was a random purchase while I was at Kiko with my sister picking up some concealer. It’s one of those products right by the till that you don’t really need or want until you see it. At the time, I was actually looking for a facial brush, just not on the day I was in Kiko. I was breaking out a lot and found that even in the morning after deep cleaning the night before, when I washed my face, there was still makeup left behind. Continue reading

The sweet and fresh lemony top note of Bergamot combined with the elegant rosey and feminine note of Rose Geranium give this Face Balm a subtle and exquisite scent.
Our Face Balm comes in 20g.
Gently apply to clean facial skin. The face balm will be absorbed quickly.

Another potential product on the Beauty Crowd site is the OKKO Face Balm. The balm has many natural oils and ingredients and smells a little bit “hippy” with its use of bergamot and rose geranium. Everything about this screams nature and on first impressions this looked like something that I would really enjoy adding to my skincare regime. Continue reading

LUSH Oxford Street Overview - It’s just so LUSH!

LUSHTHUMB.jpg

I’ve always loved LUSH and the relaxed and slightly hippy environment that makes you feel super clean and natural. They ladies and gents in there always seem like such natural beauties and you can tell from talking to them just how much they love and adore LUSH products. (Plus, male employees have the softest looking beards. Weird to notice but mmmm, fuzzy :)). I once spent over an hour standing in LUSH with my friend Tasha and two LUSH employees discussing hair and skincare. It set us up in such a good mood for lunch and shopping afterwards. The two girls at the branch went above and beyond for us.

Anyway, this post is about something different… You’ve probably already seen it by now but this is the new LUSH store on Oxford Street, a mecca of natural, cruelty free beauty, skin and haircare. The pictures were taken on the second day of opening. – Yeaaaaaah… that just goes to show how long I hoard blog pictures ahaha.  Continue reading
