I ♥ Makeup - Sin Wonder Palette Review & Swatches

iheartmakeupsinpalettereviewswatches

This has been a veeeeery long time in coming but I thought that since you can get the Sin palette for free @ makeuprevolutionstore.com when you spend £20 this weekend, when better to actually get around to publishing this review that I’ve been sitting on for ages. That way you can all get a jist of what the shadows look like and know that you’re getting an amazing deal!!

You’re getting 16 awesome eyeshadows, five of them are completely matte and the rest are shimmery/metallic. None of the shades have any noticeable glitters. – Two are double sized, one that is a great brow highlight and on white/silver that has a multitude of uses.

Starting with the packaging – Sin comes in the same sleek black palette that many of the Revolution shadows come in only this one has no writing on the top, only a big 3D purple heart. The sister palette, Passion, comes with a pink heart. While the heart is really pretty and different, it is a bit annoying when trying to stack palettes. – You get a really huge full length mirror too which is awesome and comes in really handy if you just want to take the one palette with you. Overall, the packaging looks a lot nicer than some you can get for this price. (£7.99) For reference, it’s exactly the same size as the I ♥ Chocolate palette.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. If you’re in need of smokey shades then this quint is perfect. -For lighter skinned girls, you’ve also got the perfect all over the lid type colour in Once an Angel too. If you get this palette or even go to swatch it in a Superdrug store, then just run your fingers over Once An Angel. It’s so soft and heavenly that it couldn’t possibly be a sin!!iheartmakeupsinswatches2

It Works for Me, Future Proof and Full throttle are a bit chalky but they are matte shades so that can be forgiven and once you get a nice base underneath, you’re golden. The shimmer/ metallic shades here are awesome too. Golden Gun is my favourite. It’s buttery and stays on the lid without any primer. I love to wear it on it’s own with just a bit of matte brown in the crease as a transition and some black winged liner. It’s really a very christmassy colour which I’m sure would look great with a red lip for a Christmas do.

The only bad bit about this palette….. this metallic pink… aptly named in my case as I think metallic hot pinks are actually a ‘colour crime’ on most people. It is nicely pigmented though and is one of the easiest to apply but I personally hate the shade. Bu, each to their own. The other shades are fantasic, especially Do It For Me. I keep saying I need to do a grey smokey eye one day and I’ll be using this for an inner corner highlight.

I think that if you’re the sort of person that enjoys a bit of jazz with eyeshadow then something like this is perfect for you. It’s the perfect addition to any neutral shadows you have. If you’re adventurous enough then I’m sure there are a number of bright eye combinations that you can get but for me this is largely a palette of accent colours especially because most of them are shimmer shades. As beautiful as the colours are, we don’t want to overdo it. 🙂

If you like these kinds of colours then MUR also do a Dia De Los Muertos palette for £6.00 which is a huge hit and an Acid Brights palette for £4.00 if you’re a fan of bright mate shades.
