thumb

The one you have WAITED for !!. You have LOVED our Blush & Contour Palettes…
NOW get some GOLDEN SUGAR.

Introducing our third offering, and we explore the most amazing collection of bronzers, merged blushers, bakedbronzer and two merged baked highlighters.

I’ve been trying to keep the Revolution reviews to a minimum but I have sooooooooo many products from them it’s an impossible task. The number of posts I make is proportional to the amount of MUR stuff I use day to day as opposed to other brands. The one thing I just couldn’t not blog about was the new Golden Sugar palette. This is the third blush/contour/highlight palette, the first two being Sugar & Spice (pink) and Hot Spice (peach/orange). Each palette is just £6. That’s eight products at £0.75 each!! Like…. come the f*ck on. You can’t get a better deal than that.

Besides, jut look at it!! How glorious. Continue reading

Rimmel London Extreme Black Wonder'full Mascara

thumb

"The Secret Weapon to full volume without clumps. The new formula with Argan
Oil feels incredibly lightweight, soft and flexible for Wonder’Full volume
that won’t weigh you down. Lashes feel conditioned, soft and flexible, with
zero clumps and a feather-light volume.

Ultra Flex brush with ultra-soft bristles also hugs lashes defining them
from root to tip. The result: all lashes revealed with full, perfectly
smooth, clump-free volume. Now with Extreme Black pigments for a more
intense Black."

A couple of months back Rimmel released a couple of new mascara‘s that jumped on the Argan oil bandwagon. They claim to do everything you’d want a mascara to do except lengthen. By excluding ‘lengthening’, I can honestly say that the product does everything else it says that it will. There is extreme separation and definition of the lashes which is fantastic. You can obviously wear it as is or go in for a second coat with a lengthening mascara once they’ve been separated. You get mega volume at the roots of the lashes but still maintain a lightweight ‘am I even wearing mascara’ type feel.

Also, clumps? No clumps. The ultra flex brush has soft bristles as opposed to your run of the mill mascara wand which really helps seen as they’re (from the looks of it) synthetic/silicon.  Continue reading

The Imitation Game Review

"Sometimes it is the people no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine"

Yesterday I really fancied a trip to the cinema so combined a half day at the library working on some essays with a late afternoons viewing. I went with my friend Sam as our respective partners aren’t really bothered about WWII code breaking films (we’re off to see The Hunger Games at my boyfriend’s request!!). I managed to stay away from the salt popcorn and we settled in for the  two hour film.

I’m no mathematician but what I gathered was that Enigma was a German machine that made all messages into an unbreakable code. The best bit was that they made no attempts to hide what they were saying, sending coordinates and plans for attack etc. etc. for anyone to openly intercept.  There were over 150 million different possibilities that the code could be and every day at midnight, the code changed again making the allies task even more impossible than it already was. Everyone thought Enigma was unbreakable.  Continue reading

I ♥ Makeup - Sin Wonder Palette Review & Swatches

iheartmakeupsinpalettereviewswatches

This has been a veeeeery long time in coming but I thought that since you can get the Sin palette for free @ makeuprevolutionstore.com when you spend £20 this weekend, when better to actually get around to publishing this review that I’ve been sitting on for ages. That way you can all get a jist of what the shadows look like and know that you’re getting an amazing deal!!

You’re getting 16 awesome eyeshadows, five of them are completely matte and the rest are shimmery/metallic. None of the shades have any noticeable glitters. – Two are double sized, one that is a great brow highlight and on white/silver that has a multitude of uses.  Continue reading

It also works to brighten and enhance skins natural radiance, whilst fighting against shine – SPF 29 protects skin against harmful UVA and UVB rays

bloglineI first bought the Sleek CC Cream in the summer in a bid to wear less makeup during the warmer weather. Well, that never worked for a couple of reasons. One, MAC Matchmaster was just the perfect colour for the summer and adapted to my tan (yes, I can tan) and two, the CC cream was a little bit too light for said tan. The Sleek CC Cream in Medium is a just the right shade for my paler winter skintone.

There are four shades; Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. The price is £8.99 which I think is a couple of pounds too high. However, you can buy it from Superdrug, Sleekmakeup.com or Boots. Continue reading

KIKO MILANO Lip Pencil Review w/Swatches

blogline

thumb

Popped into Kiko on Regent’s Street and got a few lip liners for no other reason than I had money to spend. You know when you go into a shop and you just want to buy something no matter how small? Well, I got these three liners for a little under £7 and more or less skipped out of the shop with my teeny tiny purchase.

I got one Precision Lip Liner in No. 302 Natural Pink and two Smart Lip Pencil’s, No.704 Brick Red and No.710 Rouge Noir. The Precsion Liners are originally £4.20 but are £2.90 in store and online at the moment. The Smart Pencils are usually £2.50 but are down to £1.90. Either way, they’re a bargain because the long and the short is that both are fantastic quality. Continue reading

Makeup Revolution Must Have Eye Products
blogline

MAKEUPREVOLUTIONEYELINERSBROWPENCILTHUMB.jpg

I’ve got four new products to define and perfect your eyes!

Some of us obsess over perfect eyebrows and some of us obsess over perfectly even winged liner. Some of us obsess over both! Whichever it is, we’ve all had that battle to find the perfect products to do it with that are good quality, long lasting and we’ll priced. From a dip brow pomade to a Rimmel eye pencil we all have certain things that we prefer.

Now I’m not one for much brow grooming to be honest, I trim them and pluck them and add a bit of pencil do define the arch and just sweep my mascara wand through them when I’m done with my eyes. That’s usually about it. However, after getting a little tweezer happy the other day I’m in need of something to add a little of volume back. Continue reading

The Soho Series - East Street

thumb

"Like the traders and adventurers before us, we've travelled all over East Asia to bring back our favourite dishes for you to try. We've recreated the flavours and aromas traditionally found at the eternally bustling street-markets of Bangkok and Hanoi, the hawker stalls of Singapore and the noodle vendors of Tokyo. And just like in kitchens across East Asia, we make our sauces and stocks here every day from the freshest market produce.

Our menu is composed from the best street food and signature dishes from across East Asia, faithful reproductions of classics free fromgimmickry and interpretation.

God this post is so long in coming. It’s been sitting here for nearly a year!!

So East Street is a pan-Asian ‘street food’ restaurant with a funky feel. I went a couple of times with my good friend Tasha and once with my boyfriend. They serve food from most Asian countries including the Philippians, China, Japan and Malaysia. A lot of the dishes are meat based as they would be traditionally. Great for some, but not for little ole pescetarian me. Dan me and my awkward eating habits. Continue reading

NEW Series - In the News

During the brief death of my laptop I got heavily into listening to the radio which I used to do every morning but was overtaken by YouTube videos. Vanessa Feltz has a fantastic show on BBC London 94.9 9am-12pm (now 7am-10am) where she has great discussions with members of the public based around the news headlines of the day. Now, you can text, email, Facebook or call to give your opinion and I’d really love to call in as I’m finding that I have a whole lot to say when I listen. However, I’m a scardey cat and will probably get dry mouth live on air so I’m going to start a new ‘In the News’ series here so I can give my two cents.

I write this or course as I sit here listening to a lively bit of chat about how ethnic minorities do better in school because their parents encourage them more than white working class parents do and as a result it has pushed London GCSE grades up to high levels, by far outstripping those in any other region of the country. Now, I have a lot to say about that, but I’ll save it for another post!

I really hope that you guys will join in too as all opinions are welcome and help others learn.

liphug

Not only do we get 20 new shades of lipstick but FINALLY, an anti-shine balm that I can throw in my bag and use to stop the annoying shnozzle shine. Apparently it’s a good primer too. It’s innovative, I like it. Continue reading
