2014 Beauty Favourites

blogline2014 favourites beauty.jpg

I’m not one for the whole ‘new year, new me’ thing but knowing me, I will be a ‘new year, new makeup’ type. So on that note, I’d better pay a bit of homage to my most loved products this year. Here are the things I’ve not been able to stop reaching for.

Fashion Fair Cream to Powderblogline

This is one I dug out of the foundation graveyard a while ago after I just could not find a foundation I liked for the winter. I think the only reason I stopped using this was because I didn’t have any brushes when I first bought it, only cheap disposable sponges. Now I’ve discovered flat top kabuki’s and have a couple of really good ones, I’m loving this product again and have hit pan. Whoop whoop!

Sleek Rio Rio i-Divine Review w/ Swatches

thumb

This exclusive i-Divine Palette is inspired by the explosion of vibrant exotic colours seen at the Rio Carnival, with bursts of golden yellow, intense fuchsia and metallic green hues.
Each shade is highly pigmented, reflecting the exciting carnival celebrations and everything that is Brazilian! Create shimmering eyes with super-charged shades that pop.
This palette of vibrant colours suits all skin tones and the exclusive packaging captures the flamboyant, exotic carnival costumes.

This is completely not Christmassy but it definitely is a long time coming. I’ve had the Sleek Rio Rio palette more or less since it was released earlier this year and I love it. So, review time… swatch fest…. life!

The packaging on this is awesome. Soetimes the Sleek limited edition packaging is a bit meh, and I don’t keep it. But this….. YES! Continue reading

NEW Makeup Revolution Products - HAUL

MAKEUPREVOLUTIONHAULTHUMB.jpg

Recently on www.makeuprevolutionstore.com there was a deal on. Spend £25 and get two free I ♥ makeup WOW glosses and the You’re Gorgeous palette. In the case of the You’re Gorgeous palette, I’ve wanted it for ages. I even had it in my basket twice in Superdrug Marble Arch. The reason I didn’t buy it? OCD. I can’t deal with the different sized pans. Does that sound stupid? The fact that the mattes come in larger pans and face a different direction gives me goosebumps. I know, I know, weird.

Into the haul anyway, I only spent £26 plus the shipping so that brought it to just under £30. I think that’s awesome considering I now have eight blushes, two lipgloss’, forty-four eyeshadows, two highlighters and two lipsticks….. Go to MAC for those things and you;re probably spend £1000. MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo Review w/ Swatches

ruby woo thumb

So, I’m not a Christmas person but MAC Ruby Woo will be making an appearance this year. Apart from making the Christmas dinner, this will be the only festive thing I do hahaha. A slick of red lipstick is Christmassy, right? I’m going to keep telling myself it is.

I’ve had this lipstick before, my one and only MAC bullet but I lost it a couple of years ago :(. Those were the days when I never carried a handbag and just stuffed everything in my jeans pockets. No wonder it went walk about. Times have changed. Continue reading

Uggghhhh. You know when you get some new makeup and it’s just so beautiful it hurts? Well, say hello  to radiant lights. Revolution are making a big name for themselves by making really awesome quality makeup dupes and these new skin powders/highlighters are supposed to be Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder dupes. I don’t own any Hourglass so I can’t do a direct comparison but I’m just putting it out there that the two products are comparable, just miles apart in terms of price. Continue reading

Eco Tools Skin Perfecting Brush Review

thumb

Features benefits of an angled edge to easily apply to hard-to-reach areas on the face (corners of the eyes & nose).
Packaged in reusable pouch, which is made of natural materials and EVA.
Cut of brush specially designed for use with BB/CC cream consistency for smooth application, no need to use fingers to apply so less oil is transferred from hands to face.

I picked this up on a whim when I was in Boots on Oxford Street. I was actually in there getting the Real Techniques sponge which a review will be up on soon. What drew me to this was that the shape reminded me of the Wayne Goss Foundation Brush 01. (Also the Zoeva 103). Continue reading

Zoeva Brush Set - This vs That??

So, I have it on good authority that a Zoeva brush set is heading my way this Christmas and I’m beyond happy, grateful, excited…. all that good stuff! The ‘boyf’ was beyond surprised this year when I said that I didn’t want makeup for Christmas….. I think he was even more surprised when I said I’d like makeup brushes! I’m pretty sure to him that’s the exact same thing though. Hahahaha. Either way, he’s a diamond and between the amount of salt popcorn on cinema dates (which he hates), Chinese takeaways (which he loves) and makeup (he particularly dislikes my love of big glossy lips), he spoils me something rotten. I’m a simple girl really and could totally live without people buying me things but I do get a warm fuzzy feeling so it can’t be wrong every now and then. :):):)

Anyway…… Rambling about bubba over (for now).

A Trip to Winter Wonderland and Bavarian Village, London, Hyde Park - Samsung Nx1100

thumb

Last Friday I was unwillingly dragged to Winter Wonderland, something I was adamant I would not enjoy seen as I’m a big scrooge and I hate the cold. Alas, I got up, got ready and got myself down to Marble Arch tube to meet my friend Tasha. I figured if anything, it was an excuse to try out my camera seen as all it’s had the chance to do is take pictures of lipstick since I bought it.

First port of call was to buy some gloves though so we had a mooch over to Primark. – It was a bit pointless on my part though seen as I discovered about three seconds after taking the tags off that I couldn’t work the camera with ‘100% leather’ gloves on so my fingers were cold anyway.  Continue reading

Makeup Revolution All About Pink Blush Palette Review w/Swatches

AllAboutPinkBlushThumb.jpg

"Following on from the success of Sugar and Spice, Hot Spice and the recently launched Golden Sugar, now we have three more palettes to add to the range. - Celebrate the amazing PINK blusher with this amazing palette. There's a mixture of Matte, shimmer and baked merged powders. It comes in a professional palette with a large full sized mirror."

I was contacted by the lovely Jackie at Makeup Revolution HQ earlier in the week about getting my hands on the brand new All About Pink blush palette and jumped on the chance to be able to test this baby out before it launches tomorrow. I’ve only recently become a blush convert and am loving trying out lots of different colours and tones to find the right ones for me. It’s fun experimenting and palette’s like this makes it so easy to do that at an affordable price.

So without further ado, here she is…. and she’s all about PINK!! Continue reading

November 2014 Empties

thumb

I’ve never done an empties video  post (ha, look, she thinks she’s a YouTuber) before because I always throw out the containers or just don’t use up enough stuff. That probably just means I have too much stuff and never really focus on one product but those are first world problems so we’ll try not to draw attention to those! This month I’ve managed to finish up four foundations, two mascaras that were probably done months ago but I just kept going…. you know how we do…. and three Body Shop face products. Continue reading
